Homework
Pupils are set homework on a weekly basis. Homework tasks will consolidate, extend and embed learning that has taken place that week in class. It may also prepare pupils for future learning.
As with our curricular planning, we aim to make our homework activities as creative as possible, thus allowing the children to explore skills and knowledge learnt, and develop new skills and knowledge independently. Therefore, your child may not bring home spellings to learn on a regular basis- instead, they may be asked to do a spelling investigation or identify patterns within words through reading texts.
Research has shown that children benefit considerably from carrying out homework tasks with the support of a family member.
Taking time to complete homework tasks with/alongside your child would have a significant positive impact on his/her learning.
