Becoming a Pupil at Shire Oak

Admissions

We are a Voluntary Controlled School therefore admissions to the school are organised through Leeds City Council.

The current policy on admissions can be found on www.educationleeds.co.uk  follow the link on the opening page entitled 'Admissions.' A copy of our prospectus can be downloaded here.

Is your child due to start Reception in September 2012?

We will be having an Open Morning on Wednesday 12th October. (9:15 - 11:30 am) to which we invite all our current parents and carers, as well as families choosing schools for children starting in Reception in 2012.

During the morning many of our older children will be conducting tours of school and parents from FOSOPS (Friends of Shire Oak Primary School) will be serving refreshments and answering any questions you would like to ask them. We feel that this helps to give a very honest picture of life at our school.

We also offer an evening meeting for people who can't join us at our daytime event. Although we hope that we will still be able to offer tours led by our pupils, inevitably it is a somewhat colder experience with an empty building and none of the bustle of an ordinary busy school day. This meeting will be on Wednesday 19th October at 6pm. If, however, you cannot make it to our Open Morning, but could arrange to visit school on another day, please do get in touch as the headteacher is always happy to meet parents and arrange tours of school when you can see the children learning.
