Shire Oak C of E Primary School

Acorn Introduction

An extended school is at the heart of the community. Working with the local authority and other partners including Youth Services, Health, Early Years, Police, YMCA, Faith Groups, Voluntary Sector, Leisure, Leeds Metropolitan University and many more. An Extended School will offer access to a range of services and activities to support and motivate children and young people and their families to achieve their full potential.

These services and activities are :

  • A varied menu of activities (including study support and play) combined with childcare in primary schools
  • Community access to school facilities
  • Swift and easy access to targeted and specialist services
  • Parenting support

How these services look and are delivered will vary to meet the needs of the local community and through improved networking and communication we will be able to improve our use of resources and skills.
