Reception Class

In Reception Class we follow the same areas of learning as the rest of school, with the emphasis being on learning through play, both directed and free.

The classroom is well resourced, stimulating and set up to promote purposeful play.  Our large, separate outdoor area gives our youngest pupils a haven in which to explore and play.  When they are ready they can venture out into the larger playground with the rest of the school.

We encourage a partnership with parents.  We welcome parents to get involved in the class, particularly to share their interests, talents and faiths.  All parents are encouraged to stay with their children for a short weekly 'stay and play' session which gives them a chance to see what their children have been doing and learning at school.
