Parental Involvement

We encourage all parents to play an active role in the life of our school - this can be done in many ways:

  • Joining the Friends of Shire Oak Primary School Association (FOSOPS). This group of Parents and Staff is set up to provide social and fund raising events for members of our school community.
  • Attending the monthly children’s sharing assembly.
  • Joining us in church at different times of the year.
  • Supporting our many performances throughout the year.
  • Attending parent consultation evenings.
  • Offering your skills and talents to give short talks or presentations in school
  • Coming into school to hear children read.
  • Helping with trips
  • Running after school clubs

Parking

This is a constant challenge to us in school. We appreciate the lack of parking spaces in and around school but we must make our children’s personal safety our most important priority. We therefore, respectfully, request that you park away from school and walk the short distance to school rather than park on the zigzag lines immediately outside school.

Safeguarding

We take our safeguarding and child protection responsibilities very seriously and make every attempt to ensure anyone who works or visits our school is safe.

  • In the event of an emergency please leave the building by the nearest fire exit, which will be identified by a green exit sign and assemble on the main playground to the rear of the school.
  • If you have any concerns regarding child protection then please refer these Miss Ware (Inclusion Manager) or Mrs Whitehead (Learning Mentor)
  • If you have any concerns regarding Health and Safety then please refer these to Ms Devane (Head) or Mrs Vollans (School administrator)
  • We have high expectations of behaviour. If you have any concerns regarding behaviour please contact Ms Powell (Deputy) or Ms Devane (Head)
